چکیده

Ossifying fibromas form a part of the spectrum of fibro-osseous lesions of the jaws. They are rare, benign, nonaggressive tumors that are commonly seen in head and neck region. Fibro-osseous lesions are a diverse group of processes that are characterized by replacement of normal bone by fibrous tissue containing a newly formed mineralized product [1]. Ossifying fibroma is a rare, destructive, deforming, slow growing, benign fibro-osseous tumor. It is usually found in the craniofacial bones, with the mandible being the most common site. Less commonly, the orbit, paranasal sinuses, or maxilla have also been involved. Computed tomography (CT) imaging plays a major role in detecting the extent of such lesions, their diagnosis, and planning the management.

Maxillary Non-ossifying Fibroma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Introduction: Non-ossifying Fibroma (NOF) is a relatively common benign and non-neoplastic lesion in long bones of children and adolescents. As far as very few cases of NOF have been reported in jaws and what was managed to be found regarding all reported cases having occurred only in the mandible, in this article we are going to report a case of maxillary NOF in a 38-year-old female.

Bilateral synchronous ossifying fibromas of the mandible: a case report.

Ossifying fibroma of the jaw is a benign fibroosseous tumour. The growth of it is slowly and it is well circumscribed. Occurrence of multiple ossifying fibromas (synchronous) is rare in the jaw, and only a few cases have been documented. The most of these cases were in only maxilla. The fewer cases were reported in both of maxilla and mandible. We report a case of bilateral synchronous ossifyin...

Recurrent Psammomatoid Juvenile Ossifying Fibroma with Aneurysmal Bone Cyst: An Unusual Case Presentation

Juvenile ossifying fibroma (JOF) is a rare, benign, locally aggressive entity of the extragnathic craniofacial bones with a high tendency towards recurrence. Two distinctive microscopic patterns of juvenile ossifying fibroma have been described: a trabecular juvenile ossifying fibroma (TrJOF) and a psammomatoid juvenile ossifying fibroma (PJOF). Psammomatoid variant is predominantly a craniofac...
